Sugar Hill Mansion

The Allegrone Companies were selected to complete the renovation and expansion of the historic Sugar Hill mansion in Dalton, Mass. Converting the 1906 estate, originally the home of U.S. Senator and Massachusetts Governor Winthrop Murray Crane III, into an assisted living facility required renovating the existing 12,000 sf mansion as well as constructing a new 15,000 sf two-story addition.

Significant to the project's success, Allegrone's masons worked closely with the client to acquire brick for the addition that perfectly matched the color of the existing building, allowing for a seamless transition between the old and the new.

Restoration of the marble fireplaces, walnut-paneled rooms, and the library returned the existing mansion to its original grandeur; while the new expansion and exterior porches were built to capture the design and detail of the existing mansion.
